Bordering Llangwm to the south, Cerrigydrudion is another scattered rural parish in Uwchaled. The communities of Cwmpennaner, Pentrellyncymer, Cefn Brith and Glasfryn — as well as Cerrig itself — are part it. Cerrigydrudion was an important stop for travellers on the A5, which ran through the centre of the village initially.
This vast parish’s population in 1911 was 1,088 (580 males), and 13 of these were lost as a result of the Great War. Only one of these wasn’t a Welsh-speaker, and as far as I know, every one of them were celibate.
